Bihar police officer suspended for 'assaulting' journalists

A police officer was suspended here for allegedly assaulting two photo-journalists, sources said Saturday.

Chandrasekhar Mishra, a sub inspector at the Shastrinagar Police Station, allegedly misbehaved with two photo-journalists of a Hindi daily Friday night while in an inebriated condition, said deputy superintendent of police Sridhar Mandal.

According to a complaint filed by the photographers, Mishra assaulted them in the police station where they had gone to take pictures of two stolen motorcycles recovered by the police.
