At least 20 people were critically injured when a bus in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a rainwater-filled roadside ditch in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district Monday, the police said.

'No death has been reported yet in the accident. However, most of the people travelling by the bus have received multiple fractures,' Bahraich Superintendent of Police Piyush Modak told IANS.

All the injured have been referred to the Bahraich district hospital, about 170 km from here, the police added.
