Two boys playing on railway track run over by train

Two boys were run over by a passenger train Tuesday morning here when they were playing on the railway track.

Jay Gohil, 10 and Mayur Solanki, 9, were residents of Harijan vaas of Umra village. They had gone with their neighbour Ramesh Chauhan to a flower market near Ashwinikumar-Alkapuri railway bridge.

Ramesh was purchasing flowers while Jay and Mayur and a third child began playing nearby.

The three then went to the railway bridge and started to play on the railway track. A passenger train that runs short distances ran over Jay and Mayur. The third child escaped unhurt.

The bodies were taken to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

Jay was a Class IV student while Mayur was studying in Class II in a municipal school at Umra village. Jay's father is an auto-rickshaw driver, while Mayur's is a taxi driver.
