Woman killed in crocodile attack in West Bengal

A 45-year-old woman was killed in a crocodile attack in a river in West Bengal's Sundarbans Thursday morning, said state Sundarbans Affairs Minister Kanti Ganguly here.

'Durga Khatua, 45, was dragged into deep water by a crocodile while she was catching fish in Thakuran river around 10 am. Later, almost after one hour, the mutilated body of the woman was found floating in the river,' Ganguly told IANS.

The minister said the incident took place at Kultali area in Sundarbans forest. The body has been taken to Jamtala hospital for a post-mortem examination.
