Agitated mob attacked a checkpost and set it on fire Thursday at West Bengal's Hoogly district after a man was overrun by a speeding truck, the police said.

Cycle-rider Dhananjay Das, 36, was knocked down and overrun by the truck at Seakhala area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Haripal police station, police officer Tapasbrati Chakraborty told IANS.

The situation is under control now, he said.
