A ten-year-old school student here Friday alleged that he was sexually assaulted by his teacher.

A class 6 student of Sikroda Junior High School said when all the students had left school, the head master, Sadakat (50), asked him to stay back and then sodomised him.

A resident, on the condition of anonymity, said: 'After reaching home, the child narrated the incident to his father, who along with other residents of the locality lodged a complaint with the police. The police questioned the teacher but did not arrest him.'

The police, however, said the residents are 'negotiating to withdraw the case' and the teacher is in police custody.
