Nearly 200 dead in 8 terror attacks in India in the last two years

Following is a chronology of bomb blasts and terrorist attacks in India in 2007 and 2008 prior to Saturday's bombings in Ahmedabad that has left at least 14 people dead:

July 25, 2008: Eight bombs went off in the course of an hour in Bangalore's central business district and other crowded areas, killing a woman at a bus stop, injuring seven people and putting the focus on terror cells in the country's IT hub once again.

May 13, 2008: Eight serial blasts rocked Rajasthan's capital Jaipur, claiming 65 lives. The blasts took place within a span of 15 minutes at various places in the city, a popular tourist destination.

Jan 1, 2008: Seven Central Reserve Police Force troopers and one other person were killed when terrorists armed with AK-47 rifles and grenades stormed the paramilitary camp in Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

Oct 11, 2007: Two people were killed and 28 injured in a bomb explosion inside the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer during Ramadan.

Aug 26, 2007: Forty-two people were killed in two explosions in Hyderabad, one in front of the state secretariat and the other in the busy Koti area.

May 18, 2007: Eleven people were killed and over 50 injured in a bomb blast in Hyderabad's historic Mecca Masjid and the police firing that followed.

Feb 19, 2007: Sixty-eight people were killed and dozens injured in explosions and a fire that followed on the Samjhauta Express running from Delhi to Lahore. Most of the victims were Pakistanis.
