Two injured in firing in Delhi

A cloth merchant was in a critical condition and his wife received minor injuries as four people shot at them in northeast Delhi, police said Wednesday.

The victim, Darbari Lal (50), a resident of Ambika Vihar of Karawal Nagar, was shot at by four assailants, Lokesh, Raj Kumar, Rinku and Chotu, while his wife Kamla was beaten up after they picked up an argument with them at 11 p.m. Tuesday, said a police official.

The couple were taken to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. Kamla was discharged but Darbari Lal was still undergoing treatment and his condition was stated to be critical.

A case has been registered and a hunt has been launched to nab the assailants, but no arrests have been made so far, police said.
