Two critically hurt after VIP BMW hits bike

From correspondents in Delhi, India, 12:02 PM IST

Two people were critically injured when a speeding BMW with a VIP registration number hit their motorbike in south Delhi's Moolchand area early Thursday.

Anuj Singh and Mrigank Srivastav, both in their mid-twenties, were on their Pulsar bike when the BMW car hit them around 3 a.m. near Moolchand flyover, police said.

Singh, a BPO employee, and Srivastav, working with a TV channel, were rushed to the AIIMS trauma centre by a PCR van on patrolling duty.

It is reported that a man was driving the BMW car while a woman was sitting next to him. They tried to escape but had to abandon their car that was damaged from both sides with the window glasses broken.

Police said the front wheel of the car developed a snag and the car had to be abandoned some 200 metres from the accident site near a petrol pump.

The car has a VIP registration number from Haryana. It belongs to Sonepat based industrialist Narendra Kumar Bhasin, who is in China for a business deal, police said.
