A girl was killed and three others injured when four houses collapsed in the Khanpur area of the city early Friday, the police said.

The accident occurred at Mariam Bibi ni chawl. The girl, Alfinabanu, was seriously injured and died on admission at the VS Hospital.

Police sources said that these houses were built on a 'nalla' (drain) and their foundations were shaky, which led to the collapse.

Those who are still undergoing treatment at the hospital are Rosanbanu, 54, Ahmed Hussein Alambhai Sheikh, 57, and Parveenbanu, 20.
