Bangalore, the target of terror bombings in July, was on high alert following Saturday evening's serial explosions in New Delhi.

'All senior officers have been directed to make rounds of their jurisdictional area and additional forces deployed in sensitive places,' additional police commissioner M.R. Pujar told IANS.

'I myself will be on the rounds,' Pujar, in charge of law and order in Bangalore, said.

'All senior officers of the ranks of deputy commissioners and above have been alerted and they are on the job,' he said.

Bangalore was rocked, for the first time on July 25, with eight low-intensity blasts which killed one woman and left seven injured.
