Stolen gold jewellery worth over Rs.14 million and three vehicles were seized with the arrest of a six member gang of thieves here Friday, the police said.

'This gang snatched chains from women in the neighbouring districts of Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar and at times even in Madurai and Dindigul over 200 km away. An eight member special task force had been on their trail for the past four months,' police commissioner M.N. Manjunatha said.

The police have got a week's additional custody to interrogate the suspects further, official added.
