Prisoner escapes from Jamnagar jail

An inmate of the central jail in this Gujarat city made his escape Thursday evening but the guards managed to catch another, the police said.

Bahadursinh Manuba scaled the outer wall of the prison and escaped, while Kishorsinh Mulrajsinh, who followed him, fell down and seriously injured himself.

Kishorsinh was jailed in March in a murder case and was awarded life term Sep 30. Bahadursinh is undergoing sentence in a rape case.

The police said a search was launched to nab Bahadursinh.
