Rs.2 mn missing from Uttar Pradesh treasury

A box containing Rs.2 million was Saturday found missing from the state treasury in this Uttar Pradesh town adjacent to the national capital, police said.

Superintendent of Police Vijay Bhushan said: 'Money had to be sent from the treasury to the State Bank of India (SBI). When the boxes were counted, one was found missing. It is believed to have contained cash worth Rs.2 million.'
