A woman district education officer (DEO) allegedly committed suicide in her home here in Chhattisgarh, the police said Wednesday.

Police officer Shaukat Ali said that Raipur DEO Shail Shandile was found dead at her posh Shankar Nagar residence.

Her body was found hanging from a ceiling hook by her driver and male domestic help.

The driver, Imroz Khan, told the police that the officer was under severe mental stress for the past few weeks.
