One person was killed when an elephant went berserk in West Bengal's Bankura district Sunday, police said.

'Rasomoy Das was trampled to death when an elephant attacked residents of Madhabpur village,' Bankura police superintendent Vishal Garg told IANS.

He said the pachyderm used to stay in the forested terrain of the district. But it suddenly went berserk Sunday and started attacking the locals.
