Heat wave predicted in north India

A severe heat wave is are expected in many parts of northern India for the next two days, the weatherman said Tuesday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the heat wave will be in many parts of northern Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and western Madhya Pradesh.

On Monday, the highest maximum temperature of 47.7 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan.

Also, IMD has forecast thunderstorm and hailstorm in West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand and Orissa besides heavy rainfall in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next two days.
