Decline in humidity provides respite to Delhiites

From correspondents in Delhi, India, 08:00 PM IST

A decline in humidity levels Wednesday provided some respite to people of the capital from the sweltering summer despite the temperature being above 40 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level decreased to 57 percent Wednesday from Tuesday's 75 percent.

'The maximum temperature was recorded at 41.8 degrees Celsius and minimum was 24.7 degrees Celsius,' an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

He said the sky would remain partly cloudy Thursday and there was a possibility of a duststorm or a thunderstorm. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 41 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 27 degree Celsius.

The day temperature has been below average for the past few days following rain and thunderstorms in the capital.

The maximum temperature Tuesday was 38.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below average for this time of the year.
