A 19-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at the Safdarjung Hospital here Wednesday evening as he was depressed due to his health, police said.

'The victim, Santosh Kumar, a BCA student from Bihar, was undergoing treatment for the last six months for a leg injury from an accident. On Wednesday evening, he sent his parents away on some pretext and in hanged himself from the ceiling,' a police official said.

'His parents told us that he was depressed about his health. No suicide note was recovered. His body has been sent for post-mortem and investigations are on,' said the officer.
