Two Chandigarh traders injured in clash over parking

Two traders were seriously injured in a clash with a group youths here Friday over a parking dispute, police said.

The dispute arose when two youths parked their car in front of a shop in industrial area phase-2 here despite the disapproval of the shop owner, police said.

'To teach a lesson to the youths, the shop owners deflated the tyres of the car. On seeing this, the youths got infuriated and argued with the traders but they were beaten up by friends of the traders,' said Bhupinder Singh, officer investigating the case.

Singh added: 'To take revenge, the boys called their friends and five-six of them armed with sticks attacked the traders. Two traders were seriously injured and have been admitted in a government hospital in Sector 32.'

A case has been registered three accused have been called for questioning, police added.

'Eyewitnesses told police that someone also fired in the air but we are still investigating to confirm any firing,' Singh added.
