Government should not succumb to pressure at Copenhagen: BJP

From correspondents in Delhi, India, 08:06 PM IST

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said Thursday that the government should not deviate from the broad consensus in the country on the issue of climate change and sign any agreement under pressure at Copenhagen.

'The government should not turn from the broad consensus on the issue,' BJP leader Prakash Javadekar said.

He said developed countries should first make emission reductions before asking developing countries to do so.
