US to attack Iran by end of April: report

From correspondents in Middle East, 03:00 PM IST

The US is planning to attack Iran's nuclear reactors and other nuclear facilities by the end of this month, the Kuwait-based Arab Times newspaper reported Wednesday.

Citing anonymous sources in Washington, it said that various White House departments had started preparing the political speech to be delivered by the US president later this month, announcing the military attack on Iran.

The speech will provide the 'evidence' and the 'justification' for the US to resort to the military option after failing to persuade Tehran to give up its nuclear ambitions, said the report.

According to the Times, one of the justifications expected in the speech is Iran's alleged role in the killing of American soldiers in Iraq by supporting various militias with money and arms.

The US president's speech will also point to Iran's political interference in Iraq, obviously in cooperation with Syria.

The sources were quoted as saying that US will not resort to a ground attack in order to avoid human losses.

If the United States does attack nuclear facilities, I foresee a HUGE backlash of sentiment from over a billion muslims who would see this as the ultimate terroristic attack.

Lets forget for the moment, that any government claiming to be working on nuclear weaponry is always, ALWAYS four or five steps ahead than they let on, and that an attack on a nuclear plant, whether for weaponized material or for energy purposes, could have a dramatic effect, and just imagine how many eyes would quickly look to the U.S as a bully, shining a big magnifying glass at ant hills watching them burn.

I find it odd that the United States is so angry at Iran for aiding the insurgents with money and ammunition support, yet the United States STILL requires the aid of the 'coalition' of the willing to achieve its goal. We are struggling to secure a nation that is roughly the side of Texas, yet we're now ready to tackle on a country roughly the side of most of the western states combined?

And let's not forget the environmental hazards that could be posed. Let's now assume that Iran already HAS weaponized plutonium or some energy plant, and one of our pilots bombs it... Remember Three Mile island? Chernobyl? Times Beach? Chemical, Biological, and Radioactive agents have the optential to be released in a very uncontrolled scenario.

In my personal belief, the money being spend on this new expansion on the war on terror could best be spent on soldifying a new use for alternative fuels here. Hit the terrorists where it hurts! I guarantee you that all these nations that seem to hate us so much all of a sudden can't GIVE their old away to us, they'd fall apart.

Another way to stop the war on terror is to stop the influx of opium to the nations of the world. Task that, and get rid of illicit funding of noted terroristic networks, networks that feed their jihad on the opium trade.

American's don't understand that their constitution is the problem and needs to be reformed to a more civilized system. The problem is not Bush, but their system. There will always be a Bush lurking around. America has a serious problem with their internal structure and everyone should take a deep breath and think about what should be changed from within.

The other problem is having only two parties in government both of which are not very good. They have lost track of the primal essence of democracy and are more focused on seats in the senate instead of governing the country. When major issues are presented in the senate no one even comes to listen. Bush is the least of America's problems their entire government is corrupt. A third party should be formed to keep the balance within and to weaken the power of both houses and the President of the United States.

They can start the war but can't finish it.

UN is dumb and powerless. Why prefer diplomacy in North Korea over war, cause they knew what laid ahead of them. Only history can tell the truth, remember the ancient Macedonian Alexander's empire, the great Romans, then the English Empire. It does not required a great super power that brought their end but their ambition along with their arrogance that dig their own grave. The main rival of US is china and they can neither stop their growth nor their power or influence. True the US can run down Iran in a day but after some time it will return to the same place, i bet only time can tell the truth. As for the current single "super power" you cannot exist in this earth by hating half of the population. As a wise old person once told "After Victory! Arrogance and Stupidity will be your downfall"

When will they attack.. you ask ?

The answer to that question is,, when we in the world least expect it, and when they can win the war in 3 days before the stock markets can react..

The war will start on Friday, and be over by Monday , and by Monday, the world will shrug, and get on with business.

When the Zz..americans have formulated a plan along those lines, and when they have war gamed it to success..... that is when they will attack.

The civilian casulties, will be horrendus !

The, Zz...Americans will blame the other side,, for not giving up.

The Magazine the Economist had a pic of a B2 going to Iran. If that happens then Martial Law kicks in and The Second American Revolution becomes a reality. Read the book the “Turner Diaries” but ignore the racism and you will see how the American people will win!!! Shalom Sincerely jfele@aol.com

They said the same thing last year at this time, "proofs in the pudding". Their using the same language they did before going into Iraq. This is all over oil, and building the new world order, and if anyone believes any differently they need their head examined,to many want to go into denial over this,he's fulfilling his dad's wishes, building a "new world order."

Israel blew up the World Trade Center after first warning all Jews not to go to work there that day. The purpose was to use Americans to fight their enemies for them. Their Iran war is more of the same. Israel is the chief terrorist state on Earth.

This is another move by the Bush regime to ensure the value of the American dollar. Just as Iraq announced it would no longer accept the dollar in trade for it's oil in 1990, Iran has recently called for other countries to move to stronger currencies (the euro trades at about $1.18 to 1) in trade for their oil. This will inevitably reduce the value of the American dollar oversees as foreign countries switch to the euro as their primary currency for buying and selling oil. Saudi Arabia has been on our short leash for a while, as it agreed to ONLY trade oil against the dollar, since the invasion of Iraq the same is true, and once we invate Iran you can bet that their oil will only be trade for the American dollar. The end is nigh!

  • Impeach Bush Thursday, April 05, 2007

Yes, we lost 3,000 people on 9/11--under George Bush's watch.

Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11. Iran has nothing to do with 9/11.

How stupid must one be to believe that there's any connection between Bush's warmongering and what happened in NYC?

The Democrats are not soft on terror; they wanted to enforce the 911 Commission's recommendations. Bush did not.

It was the Republicans who blew the cover of a CIA agent, and act which brought down an apparatus designed to uncover WMDs. Bush '41 called outing a CIA officer the worst kind of treason.

And it's the Democrats who are soft on terror? You much be joking. Either that or brainwashed.

Sorry to say, the world is already full of nukes. But Bush and Co. don't care about that--otherwise they would be concerned about nukes in North Korea and Pakistan. They're not. There's no oil there.

Bush and his criminal cadre have systematically dismantled the U.S. Constitution under the guise of "making us safer."

...All thanks to the legions of easily frightened, brain dead NeoCon worshippers who can't tell the difference between leadership and greed.

Bush's war or planned attack on Iran. The only way to stop all of this is to completely shut our country down. How??? Just refuse to go to work, or any business transactions, going to school; I guess literally stop doing everything and most of all military personal; if they are sincere in the survival of our country they will enmass refuse to execute any orders given by Bush and his henchmen. Remember one thing the government is only as strong as the people that support and back it; if we as American citizens are fed up with our present situation we have the power to change it: JUST REFUSE ENMASS!!!!

Remember we have the power as a unit!!!

I am against personal wars declared by the President without the approval of Congress.

I am against wars because we are "afraid" of countries who are somehow 'inferior'. How come we don't attack Russia or China? We KNOW for sure they have nukes. We wouldn't dare.

This war is about oil profit and removing U.S. freedoms, and protecting Israel's interests, and nothing else.

Attacking Iran is just Bush's way of muscling his way into the Middle East. What a coward, picking on the poorest most troubled countries first. If he is allowed to carry out this treasonous nightmare, many, many innocent Americans will die. We will die here at home this time. Russia will put us back to the Middle Ages, God knows we deserve it. I despise Bush's America, and most of the lilly white cowards that allow his evil to propigate! Every country gets the government it deserves!

  • Patriarch Verlch Thursday, April 05, 2007

I don't think our country needs soft on Terror democrats in office. We need a country that is going to see the bully and jump him.

Look we already lost 3,000 Americans not that long ago with our own plans.

Let us not wake up tomorrow with nukes in our beds thanks to terrorists.

In Lebanon the non muslims had their eyes gouged out, their genitals cut off and stuffed in their mouths. If Israel had not interveined the blood bath would have been worse.

Democrats are so soft on terror that they will not see a threat before a loose nuke etc-ho sketches their shadows into a concrete wall!
