An Indian man and his Filipina wife have been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for allegedly killing their month-and-half-old baby daughter.

R. Ramesh, 33, and Virginia Persalano, 30, brought the body of the baby to the Zulekha hospital in Sharjah late Sunday evening, according to media reports here.

On close investigation, doctors found a large number of bruise marks and fractures on the body.

Suspecting foul play, they called the police who then arrested the couple Monday.

The baby's body has been shifted to the forensic laboratory for further investigation. The couple had reportedly got married just a month prior to the baby's birth.
