The six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Turkey have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic dialogue here, WAM news agency reported Thursday.

The MoU, which was signed on the sidelines of the GCC-Turkey meeting, aims at developing positive mutual relations and multi-lateral cooperation between the two sides, as well as devising an advisory mechanism in political, economic, security and cultural spheres.

Turkey was represented at the meeting by foreign minister Ali Babacan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation to the meeting was led by foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Under the MoU, the two sides would hold high-level meetings annually to exchange views on mutual ties and regional issues. The next GCC-Turkey meeting would be held in Turkey.
