Indian worker dies in UAE

An Indian expatriate died when a bag of cement fell accidentally on him at a construction site in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ramaluwa Kusta Buram, 38, was working at an under-construction building in the Al Tawun area of Sharjah when a bag of cement fell on him killing him instantly Sunday. On receiving information, Sharjah police had immediately dispatched a team along with an ambulance.

According to reports received here, several cement bags were being transported to an upper floor of the building when one of the ropes snapped and a bag of cement fell on Buram. Foul play has been ruled out by the police.

The victim's body was later shifted to the Kuwaiti Hospital in Sharjah.
