Sanskrit from Jatiya

Bharatiya Janata Party's Satyanarayan Jatiya, a veteran member of the Lok Sabha from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, is a scholarly person known for his command over various languages including English and Sanskrit.

Raising the problem of food grain and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) shortage during Zero Hour, Jatiya chose poetry to bring home a point.

A bemused Speaker Somnath Chatterjee asked if 'Jatiyaji' could switch over to Sanskrit. 'Dhanyawade, mahabhage, (thanks, sir)', Jatiya concluded.
