Yashwant Sinha faints during agitation in Ranchi

From correspondents in Jharkhand, India, 11:00 PM IST

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha Monday fainted while participating in an agitation launched by the party here.

Sinha fainted near Chief Minister Madhu Koda's official residence. The former central minister was leading a team of BJP workers to protest against rising prices and corruption. He was involved in a scuffle with security personnel near Koda's house when he wanted to enter the house, but was stopped.

The scorching sun and the scuffle seemed to have worked against Sinha. He was taken to hospital where his condition is improving.

The BJP Monday launched a 12-day agitation in the state to protest rising prices and corruption.
