A prominent Tamil Muslim group, which supports the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, has urged it to vote against the government during the confidence motion in parliament July 22. The DMK is a part of the ruling United Progressive Alliance at the centre.
Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) president M.H. Jawahirullah in his letter Thursday to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi asked him to direct the DMK Lok Sabha members to support the Left parties during the confidence motion, in opposition to the government.
The letter follows Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat's invitation Wednesday night to political parties in the United Progressive Alliance here at a public meeting to desert the Congress and 'join us'.
Urging the DMK patriarch to 'direct the DMK Lok Sabha members to support the Left parties during the confidence motion against the Singh government in the interest of our country', the TMMK letter says the 'n-deal abrogates our country's sovereignty and independence'.

The Commies are in an identity crisis all over the world, as their ideology has lost appeal. In India, as people are generally indisciplined in politics, the commies are even more so in the identity crisis.
Communist parties' political future now is restricted to just two states in the whole of India and is going to be further diminished. They ruined W Bengal and Kerala industrial development. Communism itself is a dead ideology. Even China invites capitalists with both hands. MUSLIMS,YOU FEEL WELL INTEGRATED IN INDIA WHICH COMMIES DO NOT LIKE, beware.
The Tamil muslim group would be well advised to ignore this foolish antics of the 'Comrades' which will only trap the Muslims as a whole and paint them as isolated from mainstream politics not considering caste or religion as factors.
The "communist" use of the Muslim vote banks in the context of bringing down the UPA govt.due to its protracted and none-too-reasoned opposition to the nuke deal for power generation, is highly mischievous, and thus it tries to paint the Islamic world as a whole as terrorist in the view of the US. It shows how desperate this party, now standing isolated, finds itself in its political game ignoring nation's desperate economic requirements for nuclear electricity.Instead, this party, predominantly rstricted to Kerala and Bengal, need not think of nuclear power stations for those states while in power there.
