Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's sister-in-law has been removed from the post of deputy chief of a block development committee in a Bihar district after she lost a trust vote.

Kunti Devi, wife of Gulab Rai Yadav, elder brother of Lalu Prasad, was removed from the post of upramukh (deputy chief) of Phulwaria block in Gopalganj district, official sources said Tuesday.

Phulwaria is the home block of Lalu Prasad. Kunti Devi was elected to the post in 2006.

A no confidence motion was moved Monday against her by members of the committee who accused Kunti Devi of misappropriation of funds.
