Chhattisgarh city's mayor dead

Ashok Pingley, mayor of Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, died Tuesday after he suffered a heart attack, his family said.

He suffered the heart attack Monday night and was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Bilaspur town. He died Tuesday.

Pingley, 61, was a leader of state's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Chief Minister Raman Singh and several senior BJP leaders have condoled the death.
