Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, an organisation of some 30 Hindu groups spearheading an agitation for return of land to a temple trust, Monday threatened to pull out of talks to resolve the row if an alleged repression against peaceful protesters in Jammu was not stopped.
SASS convenor Leela Karan Sharma alleged that the police were resorting to 'brutal use of force' against peaceful protesters who were demanding restoration of 40 hectares of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
The SASS demanded that the police chiefs of Jammu province and other districts in the region should be called back before next round of talks with the governor's panel.
The fifth round of talks is slated to take place Tuesday.
