From the various news of the chequered story of this project including public petitions, the question now cannot be about missing of deadlines, but about the very basic concept of the project, its desirability and utility for the nation. Focussing on deadlines missed is a clever diversion from this truth. The project may benefit some interested politicians through operation, maintnenance and project construction, but nothing more.

The public smell rats reading these colossal figures at tax payer cost. We need objective details for study like (sub/sub-sub)contractors, project parts allotted with budget and actuals paid.etc.

In retrospect BJP was wrong in highlighting Ramayan facts. This has been misused by Mr TR Baalu and his officers as dictated by him. There are so many crucial technoeconomic criteria which fail this project.

Is the ministry trying to run roughsod over all the wisdom of these respectable with rich experience in shipping economics, techtonics, environment,and other relevant areas.They have presented impeccably sound arguments based on facts that nullify the claimed benefits of the project to the country.

The shipping ministry apparently has tried to oversimplify the issue by asking the SC not to interdict in it saying that the opposition to the project is misconceived/ unsubstantiated. The truth is that many experts have raised their voices against it.
