Congress will not upset Mamata: Moily

From correspondents in Delhi, India, 03:31 PM IST

Congress spokesperson Veerappa Moily Wednesday said his party will not form any alliance that will upset its poll partner Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.

'We won't do anything which will upset the Trinamool,' Moily told reporters here.

His comments came as the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress was miffed with Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's overtures to Left parties Tuesday.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's remarks, Moily said: 'Our agreement with Mamataji will remain strong and we will not form any alliance that is detrimental to the interest of the Trinamool.'

'Trinamool Congress' selection is Congress' selection. The alliance with the Trinamool will be stable, strong and permanent,' Moily added.
