DB Realty, India’s fastest growing real estate and hospitality conglomerate, today announced that it is developing Orchid OZONE - India’s biggest mall with over 2.5 million sq. ft at Dahisar, North Mumbai. Being built with an investment of USD 175 million (Rs. 700 crore), the mall promises to transform the sector by ushering the Next Level of international benchmarks in the Indian retail industry.
DB Realty has already roped in prime anchor tenants such as Pantaloons, Hypercity and Shoppers Stop. Orchid Ozone will be a complete and unique retail experience spread over 1.6 million sq. ft for urban shoppers. In addition, it will also comprise of luxurious lifestyle and entertainment choices such as:
- Mystifying Water themed atrium by Wet Design Inc, USA
- A 20-screen megaplex theatre
- A 125 room boutique hotel
- A 50,000 sq. ft kids ‘play & care’ zone
- Travolators to connect shoppers seamlessly from one level of the mall to the other.
- Large food courts offering world cuisine that overlook the scintillating water themed atriums
Mr. Asif Balwa, Director, DB Realty, stated: “DB Realty foresees a dramatic shift in the Indian retail scenario. As current retail formats within cities become cluttered, urban families will want to explore ‘on-the-periphery’ suburbs to experience a global lifestyle destination. Keeping this shift in mind, we designed the Orchid Ozone Mall at Dahisar. Urbanities can not only shop here to their heart’s content, but can experience a completely relaxed shopping and
entertainment environment similar to global cities. DB Realty is focused on raising the benchmarks across all realty verticals and we are confident that India’s biggest global mall – Orchid Ozone - will lead the way in ushering that change.”
The project is scheduled to be ready by the end of the last quarter of 2009.

Dear Avinash, If you can find a copy of The Times of India, Mumbai edition of 1st May 2008 at a nearby "raddiwala" in Mira Road or elsewhere then read the fourth page where you will find how the developers are cheating everyone by avoiding Dahisar octroi naka. Singapore International School, Lodha Aqua, Thakur Mall and part of Orchid Ozone Mall are in Mira Road. I am correcting my earlier statement regarding Orchid Ozone Mall because the official correspondence which I have received is that this mall lies in both the municipal corporations (BMC and Mira-Bhayander) and the developer has taken approvals from both the Municipalities. Thus Orchid Ozone Mall is in Mumbai as well as Mira Road. But Avinash I appreciate your efforts. "JISKA DIL JALTA HAI USEY HI PATA CHALTA HAI"
Hi Tisgaon, Can you tell me the exact date of the TOI issue where this article is. I am from Mira Road too and I really dont understand why Lodha Aqua, Thakur Mall and Orchid Ozone are addressed as in Dahisar. Also, Just behind Thakur Mall there is a school Singapore International school, I saw that their address on http://www.sisindia.net/html/contactus.htm says Next to Thakurmall Dahisar with pincode 401104 which is of Mira Road. Ha Haaa

Dear India ENews, Already I have tired from answering the TRUTH regarding the controversial location of this mall with respect to the political boundary of Mumbai city. This mall which is supposed to be India's biggest Mall is not inside Mumbai city limits but is just outside it. It is in Mira Road which falls in Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation limits and is touching the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation limits at Dahisar Check Naka. The developer is wrongly claiming it to be at Dahisar a Mumbai suburb. There are already many responses to the location of this mall on other blogs and Net News publisher and Yahoo Answers. This TRUTH is already a news published in the Times of India - Mumbai edition during first week of May 2008. Please ask M/s D B Realty management to change the publicised location from Dahisar to Mira Road. Regards, BYE.
