From correspondents in Maharashtra, India, 08:30 PM IST

myJobsinPune.com, Pune's only dedicated Job site, has more than 1 lac jobseekers registered to the site in just six months of its launch.

This response accentuates the importance of a dedicated city-specific job portal that Punekars have clearly taken a liking for. "Our emphasis now, is on improving the site using the very valuable inputs we have received from Punekars from all walks of life", says Saurabh Shroff, Head Marketing.

Launched in October last year, myJobsinPune.com is a job site which offers jobs only in Pune, to jobseekers across the World Wide Web. "Although most of our registered jobseekers are from Pune we do have significant amount of jobseekers registered from Mumbai, rest of Maharashtra and other metros in India.

Pune is one of the fastest growing cities in the world and is seeing robust growth in various traditional and emerging sectors. This is spurring the interest in Pune as a job destination", he adds.

Mr. Shroff added that Although IT/ITES professionals remain to be the top online job searchers, jobseekers from sectors of manufacturing, Auto Ancillary industry and retail are also emerging in the online recruitment space.

He said that while IT-Software remains to be the highest as regards the no. of registered jobseekers (26.29%), Manufacturing and Industrial profiles stood at 8.60%, followed by Automobile/auto components/auto ancillary with 8.05% of the jobseekers from the sector. The other major sectors from which jobseekers are seen to be from were Engineering/projects 7.06%, IT-Hardware/networking 5.63%, Educational/Training 4.50%, Banking 3.45%, CRM /Call centres/BPO/ITES/Medical transcription 3.27%, Financial services/Stock broking 2.75% and telecom 2.62%.

“We are very delighted to have started our first website in Pune, the response to our initiative is very encouraging, and we plan to invest further resources in growing myJobsinPune.com and are also planning launches in other cities soon”, he added.
