Pumped in over the next three years, with this investment of Rs 50 crore, OSIM India would like to expand the company operations and start more new showrooms in the country. Currently the company has 22 outlets in India and will add another 28 in the next three years. This will continue till 100 outlets envisaged to achieve by the year 2012. The outlets in India are located in cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune and Indore.
Company roughly spends around Rs 75 lakh to Rs One crore as investments for each outlet. OSIM India, a division of Paramount Surgimed Ltd. is a master franchisee of OSIM International Ltd., a Singapore headquartered company with over S$ 500 million turnover. It is listed on Singapore Stock Exchange. OSIM India imports the products under health, hygiene, nutrition and fitness categories and caters to its exclusive outlets spread across India.
Speaking about the market in Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Shaily Grover said that it is one of the very important, potential and fastest growing market for the company's products in India. The company currently has one showroom in Hyderabad and soon plans to expand to other potential centres in Andhra Pradesh like Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. With so many big corporate companies, MNCs, IT and ITeS companies, the market offers a great potential for the products. It's products are well accepted in the local market and more potential is yet to be tapped. Looking at the potential of the city, OSIM India may soon even plan to expand its base in twincites by coming out with more outlets. The concrete plans of which will be finalised in near future, he quickly added.

With so many health tourists to this city and growing economic activity, this market offers us great potential, he informed.On the occasion of his maiden conference in city Mr. Grover launched 'OSIM uPilot', a designer massage chair, which gives full curative effects of a therapeutic massage and is priced at Rs 3,69,000/-. We propose to sell 250 such chairs in addition to other range of chairs. Our total chairs target is 1000, Mr. Grover added.
The other product which is launched today is OSIM uSqueez, a foot massager. Its features include multi angle squeeze and wrap around squeeze for personalised calves-ankles-feet massage and is priced at Rs 23,000/-. For uSqueez, on entire India basis we expect to sell about 5000 pcs for the year and 600 pc in this year in AP," he said.
Speaking about the market for such lifestyle, health and fitness products Mr. Grover said that the market size for these products in India is around Rs. 5000 crores and AP market is approximately around Rs 500 crore. The market is growing fast at an estimated rate of 20 - 30% in India every year, he added.
