IFC has clarified that IFC Infrastructure Director, Anita George, who was in Nepal earlier this week to speak at a workshop on hydropower, had said that 'IFC does not finance more than 25% of any project." In the context of a query regarding Arun III and Upper Karnali projects, Ms George had responded that "IFC could look at these and other projects at an appropriate time." Her comments appear to have been quoted differently in some news reports.
