Samsung India, Global technology leader and Worldwide Olympic Partner, commenced the ‘Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008’, a Mega Quiz Contest on Olympic Games for school children, with its first regional round in Mumbai. Apeejay, Nerul emerged the winner of the Regional round beating Lilavati Bai Podar Senior Secondary School, Avalon Heights International School, Vashi, Father Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi, DAV Public School, Thane and Pune Vidya Bhawan, Ghatkopar in an exciting finish.
The three member team from Apeejay, Nerul represented by Pranav B, B Venkat and Ronak Nagoni emerged as Champions from amongst five schools to win the Regional Final of the Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008. Over 100 schools from Mumbai participated in the event. VJ turned actor Gaurav Kapoor was the Quiz Master for this event.
The mega quiz competition that was held at Mumbai’s Ravindra Natya Mandir, began with all the school teams competing with each other in a Preliminary written test. The Six winning teams were then selected to participate in the Regional final round. Actor Sagarika Ghatge ‘Chake De’ fame attended the Samsung Olympic Quest to encourage the children and asked them questions during the Celebrity Round. She also witnessed the Mumbai Regional final round of the Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008.
Pranav B, B Venkat and Ronak Nagoni from the winning team won Samsung LCD monitors 17” and earned a Samsung 32” LCD TV for Apeejay, Nerul. All the other finalists were given Samsung MP3 players. Apeejay Nerul will now compete with teams from Kolkata, Bangalore and New Delhi at the national finals which will be held at New Delhi on 5 August 2008. The last leg of Regional Final is in New Delhi on Aug 5th.

As the Worldwide Olympic Partner for the forthcoming Olympic Games, Samsung is seeking to strengthen the Olympic movement in India by organizing the Samsung Olympic Games Quest in the country. Samsung India is the sponsor of the Indian team to the forthcoming Beijing Olympics and also a Worldwide Olympic Partner.
