Bollywood celebrities such as Sonu Nigam (Guest of Honour), Suniel Shetty, Riya Sen, Arbaaz Khan, Shahbaaz Khan, Sudha Chandran, etc., and politicians such as NCP supremos including R. R. Patil (Dy. Chief Minister), Chhagan Bhujbal, Anil Deshmukh, Dilip Valse-Patil, etc., will be attending the biggest dahi handi in suburban Mumbai at Acharya Atre Maidan, Pant Nagar Ghatkopar, being organised by Sagar Friends Association and managed by Vighnaharta Entertainment.

The Association's President Bharat Shetty (NCP leader and General Secretary for Youth) claims that the prize money of Rs. 5,55,555 for the six-layered dahi handi makes it the biggest dahi handi in suburban Mumbai and the central/ eastern part of Mumbai. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the event (as compared to 25,000 last year).

D. Archana of Vighnaharta Entertainment says that Krishna Leela will be organised in sync with the sanctity of the event and ace singer Vinod Rathod is going to perform in this event. More than 100 smaller mandals will participate in the dahi handi.

The prize money amount for the 1st layer will be Rs. 3,333; for the second layer will be Rs. 5,555; and for the 3rd layer will be Rs. 11,111 and the 4th layer will be Rs. 25,000. For women Govindas, there is a special prize amount of Rs. 5,555.

The organising committee includes key Maharashtra State Ministers and politicians such as Naseem Siddiqui, Narendra Sharma, Sameer Bhujbal, Pranay Shah and D. Archana of Vighnaharta Entertainment.
