Chennai students have the opportunity to study at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and Glion Institute of Higher Education, two of the world’s top three hospitality and hotel management schools based in Switzerland. A survey by UK-based market research firm Taylor Nelson Sofres revealed that industry hiring managers rank Les Roches and Glion as being among the top three hospitality management schools in the world for an international career. Les Roches and Glion offer the highest quality hospitality education through a combination of carefully planned hands-on exercises designed to instill management competencies, a full range of academic subjects from general education through management theory, and professional internships. Hiring managers also indicated in prior research that Les Roches and Glion students are likely to occupy the top 20% of executive positions within 5 to 10 years after graduation.
According to WTTC, by 2013 India will be the third-largest tourism market in the world. The domestic hospitality sector is likely to see investments of over USD$11 billion in the next two years with 40 international hotel brands making their presence in the country in the next few years. The Indian hospitality sector is expected to grow to Rs 15 trillion (US$ 275 billion) in the next ten years.
“Well-educated management personnel will be a pre-requisite for offering the highest international standards of service by the hospitality industry. In addition, the new Indian has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and we have seen several of our Indian students embark on numerous successful ventures,” Mr. Mazurczak added.
