GTI was awarded the ‘Best Container Terminal 2008’ at the CNBC Maritime Gateway Awards for its phenomenal performance. Mr. Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO and Mr. Prakash Tulsiani, COO received the award at a gala evening amidst the presence of prominent industry leaders and stalwarts. The award was presented by A.P.V.N Sarma, Hon’ble Secretary- Ministry of Shipping. GTI has received this award on the basis of its efficiency in operations vis-à-vis business volumes and productivity.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO GTI said, “This award is a great honor and crucial recognition that reemphasizes our excellence and commitment to the industry”. “This initiative is a commendable and is a much needed platform for strengthening the communication within and outside the industry.”

The award ceremony was followed by ‘CEO forum - Building India into a World-class Maritime Nation’ where Prakash was a panelist. Prakash emphasized on the need and proven success of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model for the speedier development of the sector in India. This forum, comprising CEOs from Ports, Shipping and Logistics sector, aimed to identify issues and to develop a road map for the industry with increased partnership and cooperation among the stakeholders.
