ESC India 2008 Conference Unveils Pune Chapter

UBM India and TechInsights, divisions of United Business Media, LLC, unveiled the second phase of the series of Embedded Systems Conference in Pune today. In keeping with ESC’s global mandate of being the platform of choice for highlighting the innovations and technologies of the embedded design community, this year ESC India has expanded to three other locations, including Pune.

Over the next two days, a number of intense sessions will feature renowned industry experts who will address challenges and discuss technology trends in the embedded systems domain, tutorials by market leaders and exhibition.

“Research has shown that the embedded industry is predicted to reach a phenomenal $8.9 billion by 2010. While the global annual compounded growth for the industry is pegged at 8 per cent, in India it is 22 per cent,” said Sajid Desai, Publisher and Director, UBM India Pvt. Ltd.

“Through our high-profiled sessions on upcoming technologies that tackle challenges hampering growth for the embedded design market, we look to provide an understanding of the latest innovations and how they can be incorporated in designs.”

The ESC India series will be held in Pune between 29 and 30th September followed by Noida on 7-8th October and Bangalore on the 14-17th October respectively.

“Pune is increasingly becoming a serious contender for the role of ‘India's Silicon Valley’ with global and local IT majors setting up base here and the city’s reputed IT universities offering specialized courses in embedded systems,” added Desai. “Through our content-rich and tutorial-based conference, we hope to add more value to both, the vendor and student communities.”

ESC Pune, which is held at the Hotel Le Meridien, in the heart of Pune city will host interactive presentations by domain experts such as Bob Zeidman of Zeidman Consulting who will discuss plagiarism and theft that are becoming growing concerns at universities and corporations.

Rushab Jariwala, from Eaton India Engineering Center, who will throw more light on the reliability and safety of architecture for embedded system, which is currently a challenge faced by commercial industry.

Mahesh Kumar Reddy from Texas Instruments will talk about how with the advent of complex system-on-chips that cater to multiple multimedia-centric product lines, there has emerged a need to develop and productize codecs to suit the application use cases as well as performance requirements of these product lines.

“We are looking forward to the similar response from the other cities keeping in mind the rapidly growing Indian embedded market”, added Desai.
