Intertek a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions participated in a two-day seminar in Mumbai to support Africa Day. The seminar organized by the Indo-African Chambers of Commerce & Industries (IACCI) aims to strengthen trade relationships between India and the African nations. The seminar was attended by dignitaries such as the Deputy PM of Kenya, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Ghana and the Governor of Maharashtra. The seminar also brought together over 500 exporters, ambassadors and business delegates from public and private sectors involved in trade with African countries and highlighting business and investment opportunities in the continent.
Intertek’s association with Africa dates back 25 years, working consistently with African Governments to maintain their product quality, safety & regulatory standards.
Mr. Sridhar Raghavan, General Manager, Government Services, Intertek India said “We are pleased to be part of the ongoing Africa Day celebrations and will continue to support such initiatives to compliment IACCI’s efforts in boosting commercial trade between India-Africa. Intertek has been working closely with a number of African Governments to ensure that the products imported or manufactured in the country are in compliance with stringent quality & safety standards, protecting their citizens from unsafe products”.
“Intertek currently operates certification programmes for exporters/importers to African countries namely Algeria, Nigeria, Mozambique, Kenya and Sierra Leone and has issued more than 1 million certificates to companies exporting worldwide” added Mr. Raghavan.
