Gyanendra will continue to be 'king' in Puri temple

Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev might lose his 239-year-old crown after monarchy is abolished in Nepal, but he will continue to enjoy special religious rights as a 'king' in India's ancient Jagannath temple in Orissa.2:01 PM on May 04

The Nepal monarchs forfeited their rights in any meaningful sense to be called so right at the time when their clan in the routine drunken condition was done away almost to the last person by one of its members. There was nothing worthy of even an ordinary Hindu royalty in their blood, what with their souls given away to westenization except for some few occasions in public appearance. The Puri temple will get a bad name to honour the survivor of this dynasty.
