Muslim clerics in Kerala announced Monday evening that Eid-ul-Fitr, the Muslim festival marking end of month-long fasting, will be celebrated in the state Wednesday.

The announcement was made by the leaders, including the supreme leader of Indian Union Muslim League Panakkad Muhammadali Shihab Thangal, after the new moon was not sighted Monday.
