India captain Rahul Dravid was Friday named skipper of the World Test Team while Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jaywardene won the Captain of the Year award at the ICC Annual Awards gala here.
Six teams are represented in the 12-member Test squad of which Dravid was named captain by the International Cricket Council (ICC) at a function at the Taj Land's End.
No other Indian figures in the squad that includes Ricky Ponting, Andrew Flintoff, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, who were also named in the World Test Team of the Year in 2005.
Members of the World Test Team and the World ODI Team, which is led by Jayawardene, were presented with unique handcrafted caps.
It was double honour for Jayawardene, who was also awarded the Captain of the Year prize. He beat stiff competition from Ponting, England's Ashes-winning skipper Michael Vaughan and Dravid.
Three Indians - Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Irfan Pathan and Yuvraj Singh - were named in the 12-member World ODI Team of the Year.
England batsman Ian Bell was named the Emerging Player of the Year. During the voting period between Aug 1, 2005 and Aug 8, 2006, Bell played 13 Tests and scored 958 runs at 41.65. He also cracked four centuries and five half-centuries during this period.
Australia's captain Karen Rolton won the first ever Women's Player of the Year and Simon Taufel was named Umpire of the Year for the third successive time.
