All India Radio (AIR) will broadcast running commentary of important matches of the cricket World Cup starting in the West Indies with the opening ceremony Sunday.
AIR will also broadcast interactive programmes during the 49-day World Cup, which 16 teams are contesting, said the public broadcaster Prasar Bharati in a release Saturday.
Running commentary will be broadcast of all important group league matches, the second round called Super Eights, the two semi-finals and the final, which will be played at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Prasar Bharati said that its TV channel Doordarshan will telecast all of India's matches and some other important encounters besides the semi-finals and the final.
Doordarshan will also beam the highlights of some matches the next morning. All the matches and the highlights will be telecast on Doordarshan's National Channel (DD-1). It will also present a studio-based programme, 'Fourth Umpire', on match days.
