Ronjon Sodhi set a new national record in double trap event, but finished fifth in the shooting World Cup in Kerrville, US.

Sodhi shot an excellent score of 145/150 (49, 48, 48) in the qualifying round to surpass the earlier record of Rajyavardhan Rathore, who had shot 144/150 at Bangkok in 2005.

Sodhi was placed number one in the qualifying round but could not keep the momentum and shot a low score of 38/50 in the finals, which brought him down to fifth place.

Rathore, who was also participating in the tournament, finished tied 6th with a score of 140. Vikram Bhatnagar was ranked 19th with a score of 130.
