Security at Sawai Mansingh stadium to be tightened

From correspondents in Rajasthan, India, 05:09 PM IST

The Indian Premier League (IPL) Wednesday stated that security would be tightened for the remaining IPL matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here in the wake of the serial blasts that rocked the city Tuesday.

The series of blasts ripped through the heart of Jaipur Tuesday evening, killing at least 63 people and injuring 90. The terror strikes have put a question mark over the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore Royals Challengers here Saturday.

However, IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi said the match would be held as scheduled.

'The security for future matches will be heightened and no bags will be allowed in the stadium,' Modi said in a statement.
