Narang finishes 8th in shooting world cup

Ace shooter Gagan Narang finished eighth in the men's 10m air rifle event in the shooting World Cup held at Munich, Germany.

Narang shot a score of 596 to qualify for the finals at seventh position. But Narang could not find his form in the finals Sunday and shot a score of 100.2 which was not good enough for a podium finish.

P.T. Raghunath finished 16th with a score of 595 and Abhinav Bindra, the third Indian, shot 594 to finish 20th.

The gold was won by Romania's George Moldoveanu (702).

In the women's air rifle event, Anjali Bhagwat shot a score of 395 to finish 23rd.

Suma Shirur finished 60th and the Beijing Olympic quota holder Avneet Sidhu came 64th.The gold was won by Sonja Pfeilschifter of Germany with a score of 503.4.
